Job Description:
We are currently searching for a Regional Sales Representative based in the Brooklyn/Queens area to join our fast-paced, growing team. We are a food science company, with a focus and concentration in the bakery segment. Our scientists and product formulators design and manufacture specialty blends and applications for wholesale bakeries nationwide and internationally. We produce bases, mixes and improvers for the production of bread, cake, muffins and donuts. Our product line is designed to improve the final outcome in our customers’ baked goods. This position is based in New York, overnight travel is required, approximately 30-40%.
Responsibilities:
Identify, qualify and cultivate new business opportunities via cold calling, industry networking and referrals.
Maintain and expand upon current customer base by building and maintaining rapport with customers; identifying new opportunities for customers.
Recommending product lines by recognizing new product opportunities, and/or product and service changes; proactive approach in surveying consumer needs.
Requires a broad knowledge of our product range, technical knowledge, and product applications.
Accomplishing sales goals and targets set by management.
Provide management with accurate forecasts of potential sales on an on-going basis.
Capture and relay market intelligence to management.
Organize product demonstrations in collaboration with our technical team.
Ability to manage and grow distribution sales as well as independent accounts.
Requirements:
Detail oriented with very strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Well organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Proven track record of developing sales territories, exceeding sales targets and fostering relationships with customers and key accounts.
Proven results in relationship building, negotiation skills, strategic insights and concept thinking. Must have the ability to advise and manage corporate accounts as well as retail accounts.
Possess strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, CRM software.
Self-disciplined, works independently and have a strong ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
Self-starter, passionate and driven to succeed.
Ability for overnight travel.
Experience and Education:
Minimum 3-5 years outside sales experience; preferably in the baking/food/beverage industry
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.)
We offer a base salary plus commission with great benefits including health benefits, 401K, car allowance, cell allowance and business travel expenses paid.
