William Entenmann

William Entenmann

Founder of Entenmann Bakery.  As a young immigrant, William Entenmann, arrived in Brooklyn, NY in 1898 to seek a new life in America.  He demonstrated his commitment to customer service by becoming the first baker to deliver fresh baked quality products door to door.  In 1959 the Entenmann’s family relocated his family and business to Bay Shore, New York where he would pioneer the commercial development of baked sweet goods.  In 1959 the Entenmann’s family developed the first see-through window cake box.  In 1970 they introduced the first soft baked supermarket chocolate chip cookie and in 1976 the ever popular frosted donuts.  By 1990, they were leading the market with the first nationally introduced fat-free sweet baked goods.
