William Hoover

As a food technologist, Dr. William Hoover has dedicated his life to research, education and administration.  He served in such capacities as Administrative Vice President of the Corn Industries Research Foundation, the Director of Food and Feed Grain Institute and Department Head of the Grain Science and Industry at Kansas State University and President and CEO of the American Institute of Baking until his retirement in 1994.

He has conducted international studies on food industries and provided administrative or technical assistance for contract research in over 40 countries.  He has served in leadership positions for sixteen national and international organizations and is a member of eight honorary or professional societies including 42 years as a member of the American Society of Baking.

Dr. Hoover has contributed over 50 publications in technical journals.  He is a co-inventor of six U.S. Patents and an author and contributor to three books on food technology.  In 1995, the American Institute of Baking campus was named in his honor.
