A Mentoring Program With The Baking Industry In Mind

The ASB Mentoring Program is designed for all levels and roles of professionals to help fill a gap in the industry for knowledge-sharing. Mentoring is key to industry workforce development, for both acquisition and retention. With no current formal mentoring programs existing in the baking industry market, this program is an important component for developing and sustaining satisfying professional careers and advancing the future of baking.

This program is about leadership development and career navigation, not technical or hands-on skills training. While industry background and job experience are considered when pairing mentors and mentees, the focus remains on helping participants build confidence and leadership capacity, navigate career transitions or strengthen communication skills.

How it Works

  • Duration: 5 months
  • Format: Fully virtual, participate from anywhere.
  • Connection: Mentors and mentees meet once per month, setting their own schedule and agenda
  • Training: Participants complete The Art of Mentoring online module to set goals and build effective mentoring relationships.
  • Support: Includes access to an online mentoring platform for communication, training, and ongoing guidance.

Throughout the program, you’ll receive helpful tips, tools, and inspiration directly from the ASB team—ensuring a rewarding and supporting experience for both mentors and mentees.

Please note: To participate, you must be involved with the baking industry and a professional member of ASB.

“The program helped keep me aligned and focused on my career in a way that I would not have otherwise been. It’s not just about a specific skill, rather someone holding me accountable to a career focused mindset.” — Harrison Helmick, Mentee & Mentor
