The Robert A. Fischer Distinguished Service Award, created in 1999, recognizes outstanding service and leadership by an individual to the Society. Theaward was established to honor the legacy of Bob Fischer, whose leadership and dedication as ASB’s longtime Secretary Treasurer greatly shaped the Society’s growth and success. First awarded to Mr. Fischer himself upon his retirement, the award continues in his name to recognize members who have made outstanding contributions and exceptional service to ASB, following the tradition of honoring those who strengthen and advance the Society.

Historically selected based on what the ASB Staff views behind-the-scenes among the many volunteers who help engage, serve, and lead the Society, it is awarded annually and presented during the ASB’s annual BakingTECH conference.
