Ramon Rivera

Ramon Rivera was born in Los Mochis Sinaloa, Mexico, and embarked on a journey to Mexico City in search of a brighter future. He pursued his dream of becoming a Chemical Engineer at the prestigious National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the largest university in Latin America. Upon graduation, he began his career at Grupo Bimbo as a Manufacturing Trainee, marking the start of his remarkable journey with the company. Over time, Ramon became an integral member of the company, leading various key leadership roles in the operations and supply chain for Barcel, Bimbo Mexico, Bimbo Bakeries USA (BBU) and Global Operations.

Ramon Rivera is a visionary leader who left an indelible mark on Grupo Bimbo by developing robust management systems that ensured resilient and efficient operations.  For 15 years he served as VP of Operations for BBU, where he led and executed transformative projects. These included the acquisition and integration of Weston Foods and Sara Lee, the construction and startup of three new bakeries, and two groundbreaking initiatives that not only boosted productivity and success at BBU but also set benchmarks for the entire Grupo Bimbo organization.

Ramon’s past roles as an Executive Planning Committee member of Grupo Bimbo, past Chairman of the Board for the American Society of Baking, and member of the Board of several Baking Industry associations in the USA, along with his business acumen, technical expertise, and leadership, were instrumental in revolutionizing the baking industry with his innovative ideas and initiatives. His strong industry partnerships further amplified his impact.

Ramon lives in Ambler, Pa., with his wife Alicia, where he enjoys his four children, Maru, Martha, Daniela and Emilio, and two grandchildren, Renata and Leonardo.
