Each fall, the committee votes on nominees for induction into the Baking Hall of Fame that occurs in a ceremony during ASB’s annual BakingTECH conference held the following year. The committee members are veterans of the baking industry who not only vote on nominations, but also provide advice on how to fill out the form and answer questions about the nomination process.
This year’s committee members have served in all aspects of the baking industry and include Gil Bundy, John Del Campo, Len Heflich, Dan Malovany, Tom McCurry, Clay Miller, Eddie Perrou, John Philips, Val Wayland, Lee Sanders, and Morgan Murphy. John Phillips serves as chairman of the committee. Feel free to reach out to ASB or any of these committee members for help and guidance on your nomination at HallofFame@asbe.org.
Individuals inducted into the Baking Hall of Fame are honored for their positive impact on the commercial baking industry through their achievements in market leadership, organizational growth and development, equipment design and innovation, advances in ingredient technology and processing, and support or services related to the industry.
The Baking Hall of Fame began in 2006 as a vision of then-ASB Chairman Gary Brodsky to inspire future generations and recognize the baking legends and their families. The more than 100 inductees who are industry leaders and change makers have inspired countless individuals through their vision, perseverance, and dedication to our beloved baking industry. Inductees have not only altered the baking industry and left their mark on our baking heritage, but generations have been touched by these entrepreneurs. They have provided career opportunities, served as role models and mentors, and are true ambassadors for the baking industry.
We welcome you to share in the continued celebration of the Baking Hall of Fame by nominating an industry leader.
