The Society of Bakery Women (SBW) was founded in 1998 by a small group of women attending the annual American Society of Baking’s Technical Conference to provide a networking organization for women in the baking industry. As SBW grew its network and resources, it also expanded to mentor baking and milling science students and encourage the baking sector as a career of choice. Further, the organization established an annual SBW – Kansas State University scholarship program to support and recognize scholastic and industry related achievement for deserving students. SBW’s tagline is “Growing Stronger Through Connections”. We hold an annual event for professionals and students as well as other networking opportunities throughout the year. Please visit to learn more about the SBW’s mission, our corporate sponsors and our members who are featured in our Spotlight section. We welcome you to join the SBW community to promote diversity in the baking industry.
